Antidepressant – laugh at your own risk” is a somewhat satirical piece that pillages through the dark mental health struggles she endured to draw out meaning, purpose and light in the end. She is an aggressive optimistic who believes that humans were profoundly created with the ability to be phenomenal at the height of adversity. Pain is the greatest propellant to success. After all, being mediocre and a conformist is overrated. Her sense of humour in this book can be deemed to be both dark and light. Appealing and somewhat disturbing. Her craft in figures of speech, diction and articulation is weaved intentionally into her childhood memories as she takes the audience into her nostalgic journey of being young, innocent, and carefree. Whilst she embellishes on the adventurous upbringing from a Christian home, she relinquishes encouragement, a word of hope towards the finality of every chapter. This is not a self-pity memoir, it is a note to self, to hold on to the best memories when you are faced with the worst reality.
